Foxwell NT650 steering angle sensor calibration (for Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac)

How to reset / calibrate steering angle sensor on Chevrolet, GMC, BUICK and Cadillac cars, the procedure is also known as steering angle sensor calibration. If you have done some suspension work, alignment or installed new steering angle sensor you will need to calibrate it or otherwise your traction control light will stay on and your traction control system will not work correctly. The tool we will use is Foxwell NT650 scanner.

Okay, let me show you what we will be doing with Foxwell NT650 scanner.

we have one 2015 Chevy Cruze that we replace a few mechanical parts and we need to reset the steering angle sensor now and I will explain how to do that so it should work on any GM vehicles.

 

We need to find the OBD2 connector where you connect Foxwell NT650 scanner.

Next is to turn the ignition on.

And this is the Foxwell NT650 scanner something I will definitely recommend to have. You can read and delete codes from engine computer, airbag computer, register car batteries… you can do quite a few things with it.

Come to “Introduction of the function”.

Next it will explain what the function is about… it says every time you replace mechanical parts or steering angle sensor you need to have four-wheel alignment and then reset the sensor.

Select “Choose the vehicle” and then “USA”.

Scroll down to GM and then 2015.

Select “Passenger car”.

Select “Chevrolet” and then “Cruze”.

Select “Electronic Brake Control Module”.

It prompts “Switch ignition on” and our ignition is already on. Select “OK” and establishing the communication.

 

Next is “Steering wheel angle sensor learn”, click “Enter”.

Align the front wheels straight and center the steering wheel, Press “Ok” button to continue.

So the wheels are straight steering wheel, I’m trying to see, ok this is perfect straight.

Then click “Ok” on NT650 scanner.

Establishing vehicle communication.

Wait 4 seconds.

 

Service StabiliTrak traction control lights come on.

Okay, the test has been successful. Click on “OK”.

And everything will turn off on its own now.

So, you can see guys that’s how we do it all.

Just exist the settings, unplug the Foxwell NT650 scanner. you can check the angle on the steering wheel if you go through ABS interaction control computer see the data and you can test your sensor as well.
