Foxwell NT809 all-system diagnostic tool is highly recommended for the mid-level mechanics because it has all the options, can access all systems, and can scan multiple brands for free not a pay-per-brand, besides, it features in wifi printing, wifi update, 28 Service functions for many models etc.
Good Review 1. professional scan tool with all the options
The shipping was super fast and Foxwell NT809 came in a really nice hard case. There is a good manual that is included that is easy to follow in English. It wasn’t put together by a person where English was their 2 or 3rd language. That was nice to see as it seems that has become more common than we like nowadays.
Foxwell NT809 scan tool allows you to save information from the vehicle and will even connect to a printer to print out the reports to keep in your files. You can run system checks on your engine and transmission through the OBD11 icon located on the screen of the tablet. To find more information then you can scroll down and find your vehicle manufacturer and then click on that icon. When your scanning in this area you can check codes for so much more including ABS, airbag, air conditioner and even the TPMS system. I’m not sure if this Foxwell NT809 scan tool will allow you to do any type of programming which in time I will find out because I have my TPMS sensors that need to be replaced. I do know that you can scan for trouble codes and more. Foxwell NT809 is a really nice scan tool. It is for any vehicle that has the OBD 11 data port. Unless your vehicle was made in the 90’s or you have an exotic car then this most likely will work. There is a lot of updates that need to be done once you pull this out of the box but that is to be expected with a scan tool of this value. It doesn’t take long for the updates at all.
To start with I want to give a little bit of advice that can go a long way. Don’t just erase the codes to get the check engine light off. By doing this you can lose a lot of valuable information that can prevent you from repairing your vehicle. Information is saved through live data, freeze frame, and I/M readiness. These help monitor the vehicle to determine issues that the car may be having and when you clear and erase codes before you have saved that information then that can really cause problems. Save what you can.
I will say that if you are looking for a mid-level scan tool for a great price then you found Foxwell NT809.
If you are not a mechanic that needs all the options this offers then you could definitely find something less expensive that only offers the few things you may need. If you want a professional type of scan tool then I highly recommend reading up and learning more about how to correctly use one before just jumping in. I like this Foxwell NT809 scan tool and in my opinion is a great value. This is something I will be recommending to family and friends.
Good Review 2. Foxwell NT809 can scan multiple brands for free not a pay-per-brand
I have a dealer-level-scanner like this one from another brand but it is a pay-per-brand situation where the contract has to be renewed each year for each brand. That isn’t really what I wanted to have for an “off the shelf” solution because sometimes people bring me cars and then I need to pay a fee to help them out or scan for them.
So Foxwell NT809 unit lets me scan multiple brands for free. So far I have scanned Mazda, Chevy, Nissan, GMC, Infiniti. Dealer-level functions were available for each brand; such as resetting Magride, steering angle / steering wheel position, level sensors, transmission driving
The NT809 is easy to use and the scanning of the vehicle is faster than it is with my app based scanner. Therefore this is sometimes easier to work with.
